The twelfth annual British Animation Film Festival was be held at The British Museum in the heart of London with an amazing selection of animated films.
The festival aims to highlight the best in British and International animated entertainment. This will be an incredible opportunity to see some of the brightest up and coming animators in the world and the work they are producing. This year's festival is an amazing selection of animation from around the world!

The Lotte Reiniger List
The Film Festival Guild Lotte Reiniger List is for screenplays of outstanding quality.
This list is named in honour of Lottie Reiniger, the first person to create an animated feature film.
These pieces are up for both the title of Best Unproduced Screenplay as well as
four Runners-Up positions.

Ashta
(Ryan Bechara, 5m)
A young prince brings a fruit as an offering to an old temple but comes face to face with the divinity he worships. Ashta is a tale of desire, spirituality, and the destruction of the natural world that
surrounds us.

Hermit
(Sarah Benson, 2m)
In pursuit of their greed, a Hermit loses sight of the world around them.

Ashnikko - Worms
(Raman Djafari, 3m)
Ashnikko in a monstertruck and a squad of develish beasts ride towards the sunset to battle the angelic overlord robots.

Interbeing
(Ben Sinclair, 4m)
Paralysed by the enormity of climate change and the sense of powerlessness it brings, a father experiences an existential crisis. Through this process, he discovers the concept of Interbeing - a philosophy that reconnects us with the natural world. This principle is vital if we are to help our environment recover and regain balance between humanity and nature. Without it, humanity will continue to take from our planet and never give back.

The Secret Diary of a High-Rise

The brief memoirs of a high-rise tower block, finding it's way in the big city.

Still Here
(Guido Ekker, 6m)
All the horrors we imagined for the future have come true. The end of our planet is near. While, the rich are able to live out their days with dignity, the poor must fight tooth and nail for the simplest of pleasures: even a breath of fresh air.

The Beatles Vs The Stones
(Andrew Kelleher, 3m)
The battle of the bands, at last. Animated slapstick and anarchy as two bone-fide giants of music attempt to outdo each other with trickery, silliness and cake fights. With a specially made music track that takes from both bands to make something brand new. Why don't we do it in the road?

Dead Horse
(Ruby Helen Taylor, 4m)
A wolf on the hunt enters a familiar forest where all is not what it seems; an unknown beast encroaches on their territory and so the wolf becomes the prey.

The Smile
(Erik van Schaaik, 15m)
When a world-famous film star is accused of eating his female co-stars, his career goes down the drain. That wipes the smile off his face!

Sweethearts
(Jessica West, 3m)
A couple tries to survive lock-down together and slowly realise things aren't so perfect when confined to living with together in a small space.

Beltane
(Helena Houghton, 5m)
A camping trip becomes a nightmare for Josh and Sarah when they kindle the ire of Unseelie Fae.
While camping in the British countryside, Josh stumbles into and desecrates a liminal space one May Day eve. Lured deeper into the woods, Josh is 'Fae-led’ and separated from Sarah, before being offered a stark choice - to become king for a year, the consort of a Fae Queen, or wither and perish alone.

Bonnes Feuilles 1984
(Arthur Navet, 3m)
In a totalitarian society ruled by domination, violence and based on ignorance, the main character, Winston, breaks Party’s rules. He is arrested and tortured by O’Brien, whose role is to re-educate those who have committed a crime against Big Brother.

The story of overly curious Mary, who visits her boyfriend's flat for the first time, just to discover it’s been stripped bare of all personal belongings. After being denied an explanation, she climbs into his head.
